WOESA TRAINING ON SUSTAINABILITY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UN WOMEN – CORPORATE REPORTING

WOESA, in partnership with UN Women, will be extending the offer on training to WOESA stakeholders on sustainable development principles and business opportunities that the transition to an environmentally sustainable future present. Aim of the training is to capacitate members with functional skills in order to participate in emerging opportunities within the sustainability field. Due to the cost of the training, we,together with UN Women have decided to extend the invitation before we close off the last stage (Phase 2 of 3) of the training, this is to ensure maximum participation and exposure for women in the industry.
About the training - CORPORATE REPORTING TRAINING
A corporate reporting training module will be offered by Dr Maryna Möhr and Mr Seakle Godschalk of Environmental & Sustainability Solutions (ESS).
24-25 Feb: GRI certified course on Sustainability Reporting [earns successful participants a GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) certificate]. This internationally certified course introduces participants to the concepts, principles, role-players and responsibilities for Sustainability Reporting (reporting on an organisation’s environmental, social, economic impacts and how it governs these impacts).
26 Feb: GRI Performance Indicators workshop [ESS certificate]. This ESS workshop introduces participants to all the sustainability performance indicators in the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards.
27 Feb: Introduction to Integrated Reporting [ESS certificate]. This workshop introduces participants to the concept, principles and role-players of Integrated Reporting. NB In order for participants to earn the above-mentioned certificates, participants will need to pass a test on the GRI certified course AND attend all four days?

- Mon. 24 – Thurs. 27 February 2020
- Venue in Johannesburg (TBC)
Training Cost
Participation fee will be R1000.00 for WOESA members. Ordinarily, this costs over R6,000 in the open market.
Eligibility criteria and application process
WOESA members who are interested to develop their skills in this field and are keen to diversify their business’ service offering may apply for the training, provided they meet one of the following requirements:
- 5 years’ business experience
- Grade 12 with Mathematics as a subject
Furthermore, each candidate must have their own computer / laptop and must have basic computer literacy and should be available to attend on all four days.
Application process
Applicants should provide a motivation, which should cover:
- Name of applicant and business name
- Your current business offering and occupation
- Highest qualifications
- Motivation of why you would like to attend this course and how you intend to apply the knowledge gained.
Please note that space is limited.
We will notify successful candidates, and they will be required to pay the R1000.00 prior to commencement of the training.
